No line of black SUVs surrounded by men wearing sunglasses.<\/p>\n

Just a quiet service corridor, a concrete stairwell, and a security employee who looked as if he had skipped lunch.<\/p>\n

Two men waited at the bottom.<\/p>\n

One was tall and broad-shouldered, probably in his forties, wearing a gray suit without a tie.<\/p>\n

The other was younger and carried a tablet.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Prescott,\u201d the older man said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDaniel.\u201d<\/p>\n

His gaze moved toward me and Lily.<\/p>\n

Not suspiciously.<\/p>\n

Professionally.<\/p>\n
